Are Sony Walkman headphones compatible with Ipod Classics?

I have a 4gb Sony Walkman, and the headphones are impeccable! The sound is Crystal clear, and at this point, i’m considering upgrading to an Ipod Classic, or Nano ( not sure yet) but the Ipod headphones fail in comparison.

Will my current headphones work?
