I have a sony handicam mini dvd recorder. I have been filming my son since we he was born so that his grandparents who live far away can have it. But now I realized that I captured moments that I want to keep forever too. So now that I have finalized the dvd, can I make a copy for myself? I have the burn program nero. How do I do it? Also, what should I use to copy it on?
Your Nero programme should guide you through it.
Open Nero. Select DVD, then COPY DVD.
You will be asked for a source disc.
Place your DVD to be copied in the machine.
Press ‘copy’ when prompted.
After a while, it will say ‘burn process successfully completed’
Eject your DVD and insert blank DVD.
Use DVD-R or DVD+R (I found +R discs do not play on some machines)
It will automatically start to copy, and tell you when it is finished.
Good luck.

You can do just a simple disk copy (as long as your dvd player his tray loading and not Vertical) just pop your disk in and start Nero, on the left hand side there is a selection of things that you can do, at the top you can select dvd or cd. select dvd then look down the same side and select disk copy, follow the on screen commands questions. that it.
You need a DVD+ or – R its up to you, and thats it
you can use Nero recode to copy the disk so that you can edit the video,
If you go to http://www.nero. com there is a section of help files in the support section.
Good luck

If you have a mini dvd camcorder….
You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer’s DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.
You can use either DVD-R or DVD+R discs. Get a good brand of DVD’s. I bought some Bestbuy brand (dynex) and every other one was crap. I like fuji, maxell, Memorex.
You can use your nero to import and burn your dvd.

You need a dvd ripper to help you copy DVD to harddrive. I’d recommend this E.M. Free DVD Copy to you, it’s easy to use and works pretty well for me, it can copy DVD to computer in one video file.

Backup DVD or Copy DVD I always use this DVD Copy software. It copies personal home video in the original quality.
I download the software from:
http://dvd-video-converters.com/dvdconverter/1click-dvd-copy.html
Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD copy give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Copy DVD on mac:

Also, you can search some other software:

Yes, you can. You may try DVD Cloner, it can help you copy DVD to another blank DVD (also supports mini camcorder DVD to regular DVD or DVD-9 to DVD5), my friends recommend it to me, it’s easy to use and works pretty well. I downloaded it from here
