Can I manually install a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M in my Sony laptop if I buy the chip off the internet?

I was wondering if I could purchase a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M graphics chip off the internet, then manually install it on my sony laptop. Would this work?
oh, and by the way, all this components or dedicated, not intigrated.

ONLY if it was an option when you originally bought your laptop. If not it probably won't work. Laptops are not like desktops, parts are not parts.

    No. The chip you refer to is on a circuit board with other integrated components. It's an integrated circuit,(IC), You can see if Nvidia, has a Geforce 8600 style graphics card, to fit your Sony laptop.
