I want to clean out HDD on Compaq tower… Can I plug it into the back of my Sony laptop in the Monitor port?
I want to clean out tower, and there is no monitor for it. Can I access files and delet them through my laptop with a CAT5 cable?

Laptop monitors can only be used for the laptop, the vga port is output only, not input.

    No!!! Do not do that!
You have no idea how much it will screw up your computer.

What I suggest is you buy a crossover ethernet cable and plug them on both sides of your laptop's internet port and your desktops, and then you can transfer files from and to your laptop to your desktop.

P.S. Crossover Cables arent too expensive. =D

    Or you can do these…
Use a USB Flash to transfer files
Use a router and then transfer files using network sharing
