Daughter has bought a brand new Sony laptop today, is off to Thailand to-morrow for 2 years and has just had the thought that the machine may not work there! Can anyone advise, shop not much help. Hoping for a reply before shops shut so as can return machine if necessary!
Thanks
Yes. Make sure that your power supply is auto-voltage and that it can work on 220V/50Hz power system in use in Thailiand. You can then either use an adaptor for the physical plug or see if you can purchase a replacement cord that will plug directly into the wall sockets in Thailand.

Most (including Sony) laptop power supplies are auto sensing and operate between 100 volts and 240 volts and between 50Hz and 60Hz. The most she should need is the cord between the power outlet (wall plug) and the power supply.
