Can Sony Playstation games run on the PS2?

Such as the original Tomb Raider, 2, 3, last revealation, chronicle games released for the Sony Playstation and the PS1. Can they run on the PS2?

Yes they can.

You will need a PS1 memory card to save game data though. Just put it in slot one instead of your PS2 memory card:)
