Sony Buyer

I bought this Sony DVD player @ Costco + the manual says I need to buy a particular adapter (Sony UWA-BR10) to get Netflix streaming. However, Sony is backordered + its not carried at Best Buy. Are there alternatives? Thanks.

The Sony adapter connects to the USB port, and it is the only one that will work with that port (you can’t buy another USB adapter by Samsung for example).

But you could buy a wireless adapter that connects to the ethernet port instead of the USB port. Here is a list of some adapters: http://www.google.com/products?q=wireless+gaming+adapter&aq=f .

The search page above is for gaming adapters, because a search for ethernet adapters kept returning the USB style of adapter. But those gaming adapters will work with any ethernet connected device, not just game consoles. You will also need an ethernet cable to connect the Blu-ray player to the wireless gaming adapter.

I had a LG home theater system with 5 channels, but the main component (Receiver) broke.
It cannot be repaired. But the speakers are good. I want to buy a Sony DVD player because it will be compatible with my Sony Bravia TV. Is it possible to use the old LG speakers with new Sony DVD player? Thanks

I have an older model of DVD/VCR combo from Sony and I have tried all the codes from the Comcast remote manual and none of them worked….can anybody help?

The best advise i can offer you is to to check in the electronics mart then if that fails contact the manufacture…

After hooking up the sony dvd player to our sanyo tv, which is hooked up to direct tv, we couldn’t get the dvd player to work. The disc is moving because the counter works, but the only picture is coming from direct tv instead of the dvd player. We tried to program the direct tv remote to the dvd player but couldn’t. Any suggestions?

Follow the cable from the dvd player and see where it goes. If it goes to the tv, push source until you get to that input and the you should see the dvd’s picture
