Trouble connecting PS3 to the Sony Bravia 55′ TV?
I’ve looked on google everywhere& can’t seem to find any help on connecting my Ps3 to my Sony Bravia television. All I seem to find is how to connect it with an HDMI cable…
Can you not connect it without an HDMI cable?
We had the Xbox connected on there just fine&so we used to same spots that was connected to&switch up with the PS3 but it still didn’t seem to work. We just get no signal. We tried Video 1, Video 2 and all the Component settings or whatever& nothing.
Anyone have any clue as to how to figure this out?
You could connect it without a HDMI cable but it’d look rubbish on such a large TV without it.
If the PS3 has been previously used with HDMI you will need to change the settings first. Either by using a hdmi and changing manually to the standard cable, or do what was said in the other answer (doesn’t always work though and not with all PS3′s)
It might also be worth checking the rgb cable works ok (it’s the same that is used for the PS1&2) as that could also be the problem.
To be perfectly honest though, you’d be far better off buying a hdmi cable, they are quiet cheap now (you don’t need to buy an expensive one bog standard is fine) and it will get the best out of your system.
If that fails go to a games shop and ask them to check everything out for you.
