Does a mini DV (sony brand) work on Japanese Sony Camcorder?

i have a Mini DV that is made by Sony. My friend has a Sony Camcorder. I bought my Mini DV in America. His camera is Japanese. As long as we are going to export the tape in Japan, will the video record to my DV tape?

I think you’re asking about the tape itself rather than the camcorder? MiniDV is a standard – the tapes will work in any MiniDV camcorder.
