“Downgrade Psp?” you ask, what the heck is that? Well if you have had your Psp for a little while now you might have heard of a Downgrade or downgrading you Psp. When referring to a Downgrade you are talking about returning your PSP firmware to an earlier version which had exploits that certain smart people could take advantage of, in this case we are talking about version 1.50.
When Sony found out that there were exploits that could enable people to play games that weren’t released by Sony themselves they released Firmware Updates (this was known as Upgrading your PSP) in the hope that this would make PSP users only purchase Sony UMD Games and Sony UMD Movies. Much to the annoyance of Sony when they started releasing firmware updates people started to try and find ways to hack the firmware so they could return the PSP back to a 1.50 which would once again allow them to play other games.
These other games and applications are known as “Homebrew” and are developed by programmers who want to release these games and applications free of charge to other PSP users around the world. This is the big attraction of a PSP Downgrade and is why people take the risk of downgrading their PSP. Currently there are 100′s if not 1000′s of homebrew games and applications available to download for free. Not only are there homebrew games available for the PSP user who has gone through the PSP Downgrade process but there are also 1000′s of “old school” games that you can play on you downgraded PSP, games like Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers and more.
“So can you downgrade any PSP?”, well at the time of writing you can downgrade any PSP that is firmware version 3.03 and below, this includes PSP’s with the TA-082 motherboards which up until a wile time ago were not able to be downgraded with ease. Unfortunately those with a PSP that is higher than 3.03 cannot downgrade as of yet but it is only expected to be a matter of time before a downgrader is made for those particular models.
All you have to do if you have one of the PSP’s that can be downgraded is find the correct downgrader. You must make sure that you use the correct downgrader or you risk bricking (rendering inoperable) your PSP. Once you have found the appropriate software to downgrade it, make sure you follow the instructions exactly as they are printed. If you do not follow those instructions exactly you will again brick your PSP. Once you brick your PSP your only option is to get it Mod-Chipped which would cost you around $100 or use it as a rather expensive paperweight.
The benefits of doing a PSP downgrade are numerous, the free games and applications, the DVD collection that you can back up and watch on you PSP all make the risk worth the reward.

How to downgrade a psp using another psp with a custom firmware?
I have a psp with a 3.90 M33-3 custom firmware. Could someone please help me to downgrade my friends psp using mine cause I heard you can create a pandora’s battery with a psp that has a custom firmware. Please and thank you.

read carefully.. download hellcats pandora installer from PSPISO.com.. look for it.. place it on your magic memory card.. now you can create a pandora battery and mod your friends psp

Here is what you need:Pandora Battery and a magic memory stick.
It is not possible if you have a slim, but if you have the old one your friend can have either one.THE PSP WITH 3.90 m33-3 must be a phat.
1) First download this file. http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1488
2) Then download this file http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1451
3) Okay here is where it gets tricky, go into the first download there should be two folders, you see the folders, seplugins and 3.95 gen docs, dont pay any attention to them at all.
4) Go inside the psp folder, there should be a folder called game in there. Go inside game, there should be another folder called update. Go inside that.
5) Once your inside update, there should be a file called eboot.pbp. Dont touch that.
6) Now go into the 2nd download. There should be another eboot.pbp. rename it to 395.pbp
7) Put the 395.pbp into the update folder with the eboot.pbp
9.) (just a reminder you should be doing this and the already custom firmware psp) Take your psp out of usb mode. Then go into the game icon then memory stick and click x
10) There should be an icon that says 3.95 gen update. Click x
11) Follow the installer on the cfw(custom firmware psp)
12) okay once you have that installed turn off your psp completely
13) Now hold the r button and turn on your psp. There should be a menu. Go to advanced.
14) Go to create pandora battery, press x.
15) Now this is a little crazy. You now have your pandora battery. Dont worry you can always turn it back into a regular one, just go back into the menu that created it and then select make it normal. Connect your psp to the power cord, and take out the pandora battery.
16) your psp should have no battery in it and it still turns on. Go into usb mode.
17)Now download this file http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1282

19) Inside the first download there should be a folder called DC7 Put that into PSP, GAME, where the update folder is.
20) On the other download rename it to 401.pbp, put it in the root, where the PSP folder is.
21) On your psp go into game and memory stick.
22) Go the Depertar del cementario v 7
23) Run that.
24) If it asks you to to select a button just hold left trigger, so that when you put in the pandora battery and hold L this program will come up.
25) On your friends psp put in your memory stick
26) Hold L while putting in the battery, it should turn on by itself.
27) Press x and install 4.01 m33-2.
28)When that is done your friends psp should have custom firmware.
29) Dont worry you can always turn it back into a regular one, just go back into the menu that created it and then select make it normal.

Wow, all of these answers are wrong so far…First you need to find magic memory stick files online. Find those using google/yahoo.Put those files on a formatted memory stick. Then use pandora battery creator (homebrew file) by putting in an extra battery and running the program it will make a pandora battery. Now all you have to do is insert the magic memory stick into his psp. Then insert the pandora battery into his PSP and now he has custom firmware.
