as cool as the new ps3 looks i carnt help thinking that its a bit of a gimic . . . whats wrong with the original ps3 yer its bigger but it sits on my desk n dosnt take up anymore room than a folder, n the 60gb ps3 is by far the best console, just dont c the point of wasting a few £100 just to get a smaller ps3. just a way for sony to make more money out of all the idiots out there who swap there old ps3 for the slim .

These virgins on the video dont really help the rep of PS3 Slim, but please, see it in the flesh. The touch buttons and high gloss were blatant overkill and makes it look unappealing to the casual market. and that logo? Well thats a whole different reply. Sony shouldve just played it safe and made the PS3 look like the Slim all along.

No, and seriously I’m not knocking PS3 (although I’ll still personally prefer Xbox until it has the serious online play that XBL does, I’m that nerdy sorry haha) all I’m saying is you should grab one of the originals if you can find it for $299 because that’s where the real great deal is at.
But if you’ve been waiting for a PS3, the PS3 slim isn’t a bad choice, it’s a better hardware value than the Elite for $300…

I still have Linux on mine, again, sorry. I agree this is an excellent value, but you should seriously get one of the originals if you can find them. It’s like buying an Arcade Xbox vs a Premium. I’m glad sony finally made the price jump into a regular person’s budget, but I will never be trading my original for this ergonomic version, plus it’s ugly too. :-\

Faster processor? Are you high? You should grab one of the original PS3′s while they’re $299. Sony openly admitted to using a crappier Blu-Ray drive, less powerful processor, and other cheaper features in general (like push buttons instead of hover-sensitive ones) in order to meet the price cut.
Oh but they added a bigger hard drive. Sorry to break it to you, but a 120gb HD in the year 2009 is a very minimal upgrade. You aren’t getting a PS3 for $299, you’re getting an econo-PS3….

The font on the Original PS3 is a disgrace, especially after they started painting it on. Wheres the Zrcic font we all know and love? I guess the PS2 style logo is a better substitute tho.
If the slim was 1st and the toaster was 2nd you kids would complain like .
