I received a Sony camera as a Christmas gift and have been relatively happy with it. Unfortunently, it is CONSTANTLY running out of batteries. I put fully charged batteries in, and 5 minutes later it won't stay on. I'm super frustrated. It is a Sony Cybershot DSC-S650. Anyone had similar problems or have tips on what I might be doing wrong?
It has more to do with energy management.
* Keep your LCD turned off unless you really need to use it.
* Know that using flash will deplete the batteries quickly
* Using the zoom and auto-focus use battery power
* Turn off the camera as soon as you have finished taking the photos.
* Try to avoid showing off your shots using its tiny 2 inch screen.
Use AA NiMH rechargeables … because your camera is optimized to use them … not standard AA alkaline batteries.

I had the same camera! The same thing happened to me and changing the batteries and recharging them again and again is a big pain. I loved the camera when i first got it but everytime i dropped it or something it wouldnt turn on and i got super irritated and then the next day it would work perfectly fine and then a couple weeks later it wouldnt turn on AT ALL.
I have no idea what was wrong with it but now it's broken. I'm getting a new camera soon but i'm camera-less now. Good Luck with yours.
