There are still lots of good games coming out on the ps2 such as COD world at war and Guitar Hero World Tour, but when will games finally stop being released on the old machine. My best bet would be in about a years time, but have sony actually said any future plans?
The last PS1 game came out 2006 and I anticipate PS2 will last longer than the PS2 so I guess it will still be rolling out games when PS4 is released.

Sony has said they intend to support the PS2 for at least 10 years, which would mean it would be possible for developers to make games for the PS2 at least into 2011. The question is whether or not they will. My guess would be that they will, but only for pretty much the same reason they do now: It’s cheap and simple to port the Wii version of multiplatform games to it for more profit.
