I can’t find on my cybershot camera a way to reformat the memory stick so that everything in it would be erased.

Format
Ok – yellow – confirm

You attach the usb cord from your camera to the computer. Then you go to my computer. Click on your camera, then select the pictures you want to delete then delete them.

What model? For the DSC P200, this is the drill:
    1. Insert the Memory Stick media to be formatted in the camera.
    2. On the camera, turn the MODE DIAL to the SETUP position.
    3. Turn on the camera.
    4. Using the CONTROL BUTTON, press the DOWN ARROW button to select MEMORY STICK TOOL.
    5. Press the center of the CONTROL BUTTON.
    6. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW button to select FORMAT.
    7. Press the RIGHT ARROW button.
    8. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW button to select OK.
    9. Press the center of the CONTROL BUTTON.

If you’ve lost the manual, you can always check the Sony support site – that’s where the above instructions came from: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=FAQ
