how can you use a sony PS3 to emulate PS1 games for PSP?

Is it simply inserting a PS1 game into a PS3 and running a program, and converting it into a PSP format? Or do I have to choose from the PS1 games on the PS Store?

you can download ps1 games from the store, but the way I play ps1 games that I have is using Remote Play. Setup your psp to connect to your ps3 (im sure theres a guide somewhere if you dont know how)
When you're connected to your ps3 with your psp, make sure that the ps1 game you wish to play is in the ps3, then select it on your psp whilst using remote play. (Warning, there may be a slight delay in the response time depending on how good the connection is)

    Jeremy,
Do you have custom firmware on the psp??
If you do, you can get free games, and do other cool stuff, of course the free games part is not legit, as for the ps1 game format, it will run on the psp, without any problems. I'm not sure for the PS3, if it can run ps1 games, but, since, sony offers ps1 games saying it will work on both psp and ps3, then I guess, PS1 games will work on the psp and ps3 fine, so, you don't need an emulator.
