Your TV should have a VIDEO 1 and perhaps a VIDEO 2 available on your television and you should have one or both of these choices on your television’s remote control. If you cannot find it, try scanning your TVs (not your cable box or satellite receiver) channels to below channel 1 and you should go to one of these video input channels. Also, see which inputs you connected on the back of your TV (it should say next to the connector terminals on the TV). Double-check all of your connections to make sure they all match up and -voila!
If that doesn’t solve your problem, e-mail me with your TVs make and model, and I’ll see if I cannot help you further to get this solved for you.
For example, the link below shows a picture of a TV that has a number of video inputs (notice the 2 basic video inputs with red, white, and yellow terminals). Unless your TV is very old, or is a very basic model, it should have at least 1 video input.

If your tv remote doesn’t have an input select button, put your tv on channel 2, 3 or 4 and see what happens.

The button may say tv/av or tv/vcr if it doesn’t say input.

assuming you have connected the dvd using scart (euroconnector) or rca type connectors try pressing "av1 2 or 3" on your remote and see what happens…………….by the way your dvd player has to be switched on-a screensaver should come up on your tv.
