I need to import video from my video camera to Windows Movie Maker so I can edit it.
I opened Windows Movie Maker and went to "Import Video" but couldn't find anything relating to getting it from a camera. Just from a file.
So I went out and bought a Fire Wire IE 1394 Cable. I plugged it into my camera, then the computer. It all fits. The camera's on. But…now what? Nothing popped up. And Windows Movie Maker is open. Where do I go from here?
I have NO manual for the video camera (a Sony Mini DV Digital Video Camera) and NO manual for software. No manual, period.
If someone could throw at me the steps as to where I go and what I click, now that everything's plugged in, that'd be awesome.
Under "File" there should be a choice for "Capture" or "Import". You tried this after you connected the cables? Are you sure your computer has Firewire (IEEE-1394)?
You may check your settings on the camera. It may have a setting turning off output to firewire.
