how do you unlock (or unprotect) a picture on a Sony digital camera?

i "protected" a picture on my sony digital camera but now i want to erse the picture! but everytime i click erase button it just says "file protected" and it wont let em delete the picture! so im asking how do unprotect it1 if you know please help. THANK YOU

Have you picked up and read your owners manual yet? Because 99% of the time the answer to your question would be sitting in the owners manual.

    While viewing the photograph, press the "MENU" button a selection of icons will appear on the screen, move the cursor to the one that shows a key and select it. Another icon will appear showing "PROTECT", which will be highlighted, and "EXIT" move the cursor to the "EXIT" box and select that one. Press "MENU" again to exit the current menu.
    Pressing the bin icon will now allow you to delete the image.
    I hope this helps, it works on my Sony T10 but I don’t know which model it is you are using.
