According to Sony Playstation's website Playstation 3 is due to come out November 17, 2006. It will be 499.99 for the 20GB version. My son wants Playstation 2 for his upcoming B-day. I just wasn't sure how long games will be made for playstation 2 after 3 is released. My son is only turning 8 and has no interest in playstation 3 (I don't want to spend that much anyway.) Does anyone know if games will still be made for PS2 and how long?
maybe 3-4 months after the PS3 comes out, it's very hard to say because they stopped making playstation 1 games 3 years after the Playstation 2's release.

i go to video game stores all the time, as i can see, get the games now, while there are out. there are many still out. believe me. the games can be anywhere from 8.99 used all the way up to about 40 dollars. reasonable enough for an 8 year old.
