   But if some sucker comes along with $5, take it. They might be able to use the RAM modules and the Hard Drive. Of course, they would reformat it to repair someone else's junk.

   You see, a laptop might last just 5 years. They can be stolen or broken. The resale value is fairly low, and near ZERO when it's broken. Since laptops are the most stolen item in America, they'd check your serial number, and wonder if you are a drug user.

   Sorry didnt read your question accurately, you could sell it for $500-750 used working and half that broken.
