Sony Buyer

I have a sony ericsson w580i and i also have a mac. what i want to do is make my own theme, like the professional ones on zedge and lasyk. i have used some of the “theme creators” but it just doesn’t look really good. How do the people at zedge create or borrow their icons from? and what program for mac can i use for free that will make it the best for my phone?
