how would i use my sony dvd handycam camcorder as a webcam? its possible, i just dont know how. and i have a USB cable, not a firewire. please help! thanks.
Most DVD and hard drive cams can't be used as a web cam. If they can it would be by using the USB cable connecting the camera and the computer.
It would also mention it in the camcorder's manual.

Hi all. This is perhaps the 64 Million dollar question that several thousands of folks have asked about ‘Using the Camcorder/HandyCam or Mini DV Cam’ as a Webcam for PCs and Macs. Till very recently, The Handycam/Camcorder was working with Yahoo Messenger older version, ever since Beta version came, Yahoo discontinued the service for Mac, for older versions. Now you need to Upgrade Max OS X to OS Snow Leopard for you to use this Facility. Camcorders never work very well for PCs unless you have Powerful programs like Avid, Final Cut pro or Logic Pro studio. Forget about the idea of using Camcorder for PCs for MSN, Yahoo, Skype, Aol and other Instant messaging services. On mac get the Latest Yahoo and Skype and it might work for OS X 10.4 and higher only which is Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
