I have a sony dcrh48 e camcorder with mini dv.Is a vedeo capture card is req?Or a IEEE cable would suffice?

I want to transfer the vedeo from mini dv to computer.What pheripheral is needed?Is it a tv tuner or firewire card or IEEE cable?

You need a firewire card and cable. Firewire is also known as IEEE1394, but there’s no such thing as an "IEEE cable". Most TV cards do a really poor job – avoid them!
