I have a sony digital camera and on the LCD screen there is an icon that reads VGA. What is this ?

I don’t remember seeing it before, but I was messing about with my camera pushing buttons as you do and now it is there. Is it always there and I just not remembered?

its the Image Quality setting.. vga is the lowest Quality, you will see options to change it to 4-5-6-7-8-9- mp (mega pixels), set it to the highest Quality setting your camera can handle.

    Look in the Menu on your camera for ‘resolution’ or ‘quality’ and set it to a higher setting, ideally the highest!…. logo should vanish when you confirm your Selection and exit the menu!

    VGA setting is really only useful if you are taking pics specifically to send via email or for display on a web page, where quality of image is not that important!….. In general, always take pics at the highest your camera can take, as you can always reduce the image later if you need to!

    Pushing buttons and experimenting is a good way to learn how to use the camera….. but keep the manual to hand, just in case!
