I’m finding that I cant add to i-tunes now or open pictures because it says I’m low on virtual memory. Can I add in memory chips?
There are NO available slots on this VAIO model – If you wish to upgrade the memory, you must first remove one of the memory modules so that you can replace it with a larger module.
Memory Installed Slot 1 : 256 Mb
Slot 2 : 256 Mb
Maximum Memory 2048 MB
Memory Type SO-DIMM – 400Mhz (DDR2)

You can upgrade your ram. First you must determine which type you have. IF you don’t know or don’t want to upgrade it, take it to somewhere like best buy and see if they will do it or a local computer repair facility. But, it is possible to upgrade. Depending on your system will depend on how much you can upgrade it to. It will probably be a max of 2 GB of ram.

You have 2 slots for memory sticks. Maximum memory per slot 1 GB.
So you can upgrade your memory to 2GB.
Usable Memory is 1GB Sony Vaio Notebook DDR2-533 SODIMM Memory.
