    It means you have …
It means you have to determine what video codec the video was compressed with, and then find that codec and install on your computer.

I use gspot codec detector to discover the codec, and then I search google to find and install the codec

Vegas Pro is the ‘professional version’, while Movie Studio is the ‘home’ version.

Both are very similar, but the Pro version has more features and can use scripts to automate many processes.

Pro costs around $450, the home version is around $70 or under

If it is a standard DVD with .vob files, Movie Studio should be able to import the files.

I’m experiencing a problem. When I import from my dvd, it claims that the file is not supported. Does this have to do with codecs? If so, what do I look for?

Render from Vegas using avi file format, with NTSC DV Widescreen template.

This will give high quality wide screen video which will play on SD or HD DVD players.

    Please help!
When I import dvd vob files into timeline, video shows up fine, and majority of audio does as well, although the entire video has been split up in “chunks” and where each chunk connects to the next one, there is a gap of audio missing in between. I’ve been trying everything, and cannot figure out how to resolve this.

Thank you so much for your help in advance!
