Is it safe to buy a refurbished Sony Vaio laptop on it’s website?

I was thinking of buying a Sony Vaio for around the $1000 range or under and there are some good deals on refurbished ones but I don’t know if it’s a good idea to buy it refurbished. Any advice?

I’d buy a new one for that price. “Refurbished” means it’s been returned to the factory for one reason or another.Sometimes no reason at all. People can be stupid.
You can get a nice new computer for that price range.
