Just got back from Thailand & realise the Sony camera I brought is fake. Is there anything I can do about it?

Is labelled a SlimDV Super-Shot Sony DDV-710E both on packaging and on actual LCD screen door. Camera/Camcorder is crap though and Sony would be horrified to have it’s name on such a product. Feel so stupid but oh so p*d off at losing AU$500!!!!

Report it to Sony Australia, bring your receipt make a formal compaint. What they will do is conduct an investigation regarding you case.
They might replace it for a new one if you will furnish them the necessary information on where exactly you bought it in Thailand.
Did you bought it at Phanthip?

Nothing you can do that is worth the effort. Knock Offs is a big business around the world.

    No need to feel stupid.

I agree that you should contact Sony AU and let them know about the experience.

    Good luck.

That’s what happens when you buy something in Thailand. Next time you need a camera, buy it before you leave home, from a reputable dealer.
