My computer wont recognize the sony camcorder?

Ok well im borrowing a sony camcorder its a DCR-HC26. BUT MY COMPUTER WONT RECOGNIZE IT!!!!!! I’m in desperate need of help here guys because i relly need to capture some footage off it TODAY! Please help me out and suggest why it wont be recognized!

Hi,Have you tried using the camcorder?If your PC is a Dell ,will only recognize a Dell product.But what ever you are using will function on the computer.Try it ,you may be surprised.Good Luck.

    My guess is that you don’t have a Firewire port on your PC.
    That’s what you need to transfer video from this camcorder to your PC.

    Perhapes you will have to search for some software help, to download, for the operation.
