   Well I was looking at the aw series also but I chose the fw for one main reason only and that was because the fw series ram is upgradeable to 8gb, like wow. Talk about speedy gonzalez. The fw series is the only series where their ram is upgradable to 8gb. For me the fw is the best

   That’s messed up, living in canada must be rough. But anyway, since I got my sony vaio fw350 2months ago when I posted here, I’M TELLING YOU GUYS, I LOVE IT. I use it everyday for EVERYTHING. I watch countless movies on it, with it’s 17″ wide screen, IT IS SO BLAZING FAST I can’t believe it. This was undoubtebly the best investment I have ever made was in my sony vaio fw350

   If ur runnin on battery power change the power optimisation settings to get better longativity but will degrade preformance. Otherwise leave it pluged into the AC

    (vgn-nr21z/s)great in laptop. i have successfully installed xp over vista without losing any data and have found the offical drivers for this model and now… it runs faster than ever before. no bloatware, just a clean install of xp (upgraded) all drivers installed and no question marks in device manager its just ing dandy!!! dedicated 512mb video memory (128mb vista) and what a ing improvement that has made. SONY… WTF RU DOING TO THESE COMPUTERS???!!!

    BTW I got a really good deal on my BRAND NEW SONY VAIO LAPTOP VGN-FW350J/B at costcentral dut com. With all my specs, I only paid $896.55 + my rush shipment of $100. So basically the laptoop is only $900 with all I got on it, you can’t beat that. I searched around and this was the cheapest I’ve seen. Always buy your laptop especially sony from reputable online stores because it is almost always cheaper. Plus you get free shipping.

    Well I finally got my sony vaio vgn-fw350j/b from costcentral dut com. I got a blu ray reader 250gb hard drive but upgradable to 500 gb. I have 4gb of ram but upgradable to 8gb of ram. That’s one thing I love about the sony vaio fw series is that this is the only series that you can upgrade your ran to 8gb. All the other sony vaios YOU CANNOT UPGRADE YOUR RAM THAT HIGH. Anyway I love my vaio and in about a month, I will be upgrading to the 8gb ram

    yeah but the fw series is awesome
    mines is still running fast…..the same speed it was on the first day i got it
    i never needed tech support because nothing wrong happened to the laptop
    the battery is pretty bad though….it dies in 1.5 hour, if your buying a laptop to take to school get one with centrino 2 and if your just getting one for entertainment and watch movies get core 2 duo

    the Sony Vaio Fw350jb that I will be getting in 2 weeks, YES IT HAS A BLU RAY DISC PLAYER. Yours howver does not have the blu ray disc player. I know cause I researched all the sony vaio fw series before I decided on the Sony Vaio Fw350jb. Mines will also have up to 8gb of ram on it. Which is massive space but your sony vaio fw140 looks awesome though. How is it running since you bought it? How is the sony vaio tech support? I hear their awful. How’s the battery life?

IXxRGExXI, asked the question that if he connect the sony vaio with an HDMI cable toa bigger LCD screen, how come it doesn’t let him watch blue ray movies. Does anybody knows the answer to this question? Cause I would definately like to know before I buy mines in 2 weeks
