My Sony DVD writer no longer burns CD-R disks. What could be the problem and how can I remedy it?

I have been using my Sony DVD Writer for burning DVD-RW, DVD-R, CD-RW and CD-R for the last about 2 years. Of late it is not burning CD-R. What could be the problem and how do I remedy it?

check the make of your cd-r… some newer versions don’t work too well on older cd-r burners…..

    Go to the Sony site and D/L and install the latest drivers for your drive. It sounds like something "hic-cupped" with your present drivers.

    If they do not have any drivers newer than your present one for your model drive, uninstall the present drivers, then uninstall the drive and reboot the computer. The computer should find the drive automatically and re-install the drivers.

    If it doesn’t find the drive automatically, go to "Add New Hardware" in the control panel andfollow the directions.
