With every update hacking options are further limited (this also applys to every firmware update). I prefer fat personally, also if the battery isn’t good you can always swap it out.

As for the slim, it can be hacked but it has limited compatibility. Games such as Syphon Filter Dark Mirror and 300 March to Glory will not work. At least, mine didn’t work.
