This video shows a psp slim running “RIDGE RACER 2″ via a FS monitor for video output.

The psp has it’s fair share of good quality racers, it’s a genre that’s heavily catered for and is hard to compete in.

Ridge racer has always been popular on consoles and in the arcades, now we have version 2 on psp.

Ridge racer has some nice graphics with good use of lighting and colors.
the sunshine scenes and cliff faces are well drawn and are fairly solid.

I’m not sure I like the car graphics, they seem a tad void of detail sometimes, especially when compared to Test Drive Unlimited.

Sound is good with plenty of engine revs, tyre sreech. In game music is ok, if a little tame for a high octane racer.
Voice comments are out of place and sound bad and actually detract from the game.

Controls are fair but dont be tempted to overslide your car as this can lead you to miss those precious checkpoints.

Plenty of game modes,tracks and cars to keep most racer fans happy.

Ridge racer 2 is a worthy racer but not quite top dog.

    Hey if you want a more realistic drifting game get Juiced 2. I finished ridge racer and I am now playing Juiced too and its so much better.
