Hmm well i didn’t think it could connect to the story in the original shinobi in anyway, and if the creators had that in mind it just makes the story aspect even worse. Lets just say its a side story wheres da aspect of it that draws you in? is she fighting as the last warrior of her clan where death means the death of the clan and da culture along with it….o wait no that was the actually interesting story in the 1st shinobi. This chick is just following orders….how interesting.

Lack of prior specification, or originality aside, I’m sorry but I can’t agree with your opinion on Kunoichi/Nightshade. I suppose if you’re viewing it as a direct sequel to Shinobi you’d be rather irate, but its really just perspective. I see it as a side story, kind of a stand alone addition to the series. Looked at by itself the storyline becomes a lot more acceptable. As for the Oboro connection, well that can be argued a number or ways. By itself I believe the game to be awesome : 3

Nah I’ve loved each …
Nah I’ve loved each shinobi game so far and I was trying to point out a reason why someone wouldn’t love it (nightshade) like it do. I’ve beaten both countless of times on different difficulties even though the story in the second one is still crap. I hope the next one goes back to Hotsuma and his soul eating sword, and sorry but that is how it is.

So what you’re saying is because some people couldn’t keep up with the game play Nightshade was terrible? lol Not in the least, the game was meant to be ish and mind crushing, and over the top like others have said. I think for the time it was just the right balance of what was called for. And I can’t wait till they make a sequel, hopefully with more Hibana e.e Point being, if you can’t keep up with the game it doesn’t mean it fails, it means you fail. Sorry but that’s how it is :3

Ya i think your right that story was crap and for the ideas like fighting on a jet i think they could have done so much more with it too. O well if there is ever a shinobi 3 (whatever its called) i hope they use the full potential there. i’ll be playing it either way just to see what its like.

ok it wasn’t an epic fail, but i was somewhat of fail. I mean there was no really good story line. I mean come one..she’s wearing the oboro head mask thing, but they were clearly all wiped out. >.>. I mean it had a good chance..the whole fighting on top of jets and stuff. that could’ve went far. they just didn’t bring back the flavor of the original

Nightshade did not …
Nightshade did not fail epically. It made the game playable for newbies by putting in check points, but still had bland levels. Da only reason the game is kinda crappy is cause it makes you pull off tates to just move through the level, so if you aint got fast enough fingers that game was unbeatable.

Revenge of Shinobi …
Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi III on the Megadrive/Genesis are absolute classic games.
IMHO Revenge of Shinobi is one of those rare games that is perfect.

This ninja game I have beated it a lot of time, but on the header level is challeging and it took me a while to beat it. This ninja game is fun, but the only problem I don’t like about this game is that he can’t touch water. What’s the point of being a ninja if you can’t swiim? But I think they just want this game to be challeging. I say that they should make a CG movie of this or the live movie because it look really good to be a movie.

One thing I hated …
One thing I hated about this game was the no check points. To do so good in a level to only fall off by mistake then have to start all over again. :[
