I desperately need a music player that plays FM and my music while i work, shovel snow part time, and go on walks with my 3 big black afghan hounds. I’m interested in buying the Sony NWZ-E436F Walkman $GB black color player OR an Apple ipod shuffle or maybe the Apple ipod Nano 4G. Thank you very much for answering!
Apple Ipods are fashion accessories. I am a sound engineer and have tested the most popular MP3 players. Every single Ipod came around mid table on every category except looks and ease of use. Sony came at the top for nearly everything including battery life and most importantly for me sound. They only came below Ipods for looks. Sonys also use nearly every format of music and you don’t have to go through itunes. Its literally copy and paste. They are simple to use and look decent also(I actually prefer the way they look), Sony is the only way forward.
You use your ears with music not your eyes.

Out of those I would get the Apple iPod Nano. So much more stylish and gorgeous colours. iPods are so much easier to find your way around and iPod shuffles are just crap. They don’t even have a screen.

If I were you, I would select the Apple iPod nano 4G (8GB). It’s a cool, sleek device that retails at Walmart for only $147.88. It comes in a variety of colors, it’s easy to use, and it gets the job done. All-in-all, it’s the best bang for your buck. My MP3 player of choice, personally, is the Apple iPod touch 2G (8GB). I love the interface, but it’s obviously not a necessity for music and video playback. It retails at Walmart for $227.88, but includes extra features, most importantly, Wi-Fi Internet access.

I would go with the nano, because I have had a Sony mp3 player in the past and the music configuration is too confusing to me.
The iPod nano will give you no problem adding songs. iTunes is very easy to use, and the iPod also has way more protective cases for your iPod
Sony mp3 player pros: very good sound quality, durable, long long battery life, unique song conversion.
Sony mp3 player cons: confusing software, horrible stock headphones, may not be Mac friendly
iPod pros: very easy to use, 24 hour iTunes store, much more features, looks better, very durable as well, great stock headphones, premium sound quality, case protection. The iPod is very addictive.
iPod cons: more expensive, not so long battery life, easy to scratch, not backwards compatible, may or may not have a FM radio.
It just depends on what you really want, If your always on the go and your shoveling snow I would not want to risk my mp3 player device breaking outside, keep your investment protected, get an iPod!

First things first. Ipods don’t have FM radio! unless you buy an accessory (also, they are overpriced and inferior to just about everything on the market). So go for the Sony player… unless you really only want it for music and radio. A Creative Zen Mozaic 4GB at Walmart is $49 while the Sony player is $74. The difference is that the Creative Zen screen is smaller.

|f you were asking between an ipod shuffle and a sony, pick the sony, but an ipod nano is the best one to go for, well that is what i would go for anyway.
Could you spend a little more?
if you could i would go for the ipod touch, i am getting one for christmas, i have done a lot of reading up about them, and i think they are well worth the extra money.
Hope i could help
