Please click the HD button. I really have tried hard this time for excellent video quality and the video almost looks as good as the original- only with the Youtube HD feature. If your internet connection is way too slow or your computer is not fast enough to play back the video smoothly in HD then add &fmt=35 to the end of the url. If that still is too much, then you need to upgrade
.

Here is a video showing some of the features and 720p video that this camera has. I think it is a great camera, considering it’s low price (around $250 USD right now) and small sensor (it fits in a pocket unlike a DSLR).
I’ll post some sample pictures here soon once I find a website that allows posting full size images.

not bad
try not to take pictures of them in low light unless you want to use flash or know the manual settings
(the flash is great, really bright and no red eye for me)

I am really leaning towards this camera. but I am just wondering how pictures of people turn out? I take a lot of pictures of family and friends and want to make sure the quality is good

It seem really good …
It seem really good! The zoom noise is a bummer, but much less audible than the FinePix S1500. Even though the video on the FinePix S1500 has great quality too (if you could ignore the zoom engine noise).
I’m still in doubt among the Canon SX110 IS, the FinePix S1500 and this one (Sone DSC-H20).
After your demonstration, I’m leaning more towards this one…

1. Prices depends …
1. Prices depends on stores and if they’re having sales. Mine was $270 USD but that was over a month ago.
2. In bright light you’ll have no problems, in lower light you’ll need to play with the manual settings.
3. Yes but I’ve never used it, I heard its not that fast.

1. That’s normal. Almost every camera does that (though some camera lenses don’t move so you don’t notice).
2.I’m not sure, can you describe it? Maybe the case for the battery?

Great job!
I bought the camera last Saturday at BestBuy for $251 and love it. This weekend I am going to a child’s birthday party so will be able to test using the camera as video and still intermixed.
The super macro and image stabilization are great. I am currently digitizing my old color slides. I merely place the slides on the slide sorter (6500k bulb from WalMart) and zip away. Resulting pictures need a little doctoring with Picasa (crop and sometimes other enhancement tools).

well you can’t …
well you can’t really compare them, they’re not in the same class. Sony’s other compact cameras have more emphasis on style than image quality. The megapixel rating doesn’t matter as you’ll never tell the difference beyond about 7 megapixels (unless you’re printing really big pictures). I would just read reviews online of the individual camera models that you want to see what the professionals think.

In a comparison …
In a comparison test at dpreview, the Sony DSC-H20 generally shows better image quality, on par with the top cameras in its class, that’s why I chose it (the Panasonic ZS1 doesn’t take HD video and I wanted at least 720p for a new camera). However, the Canon SX200 IS can take pictures at a wider angle (for example, if you’re taking a picture of a group of people and you can’t fit someone in the picture you need to step back or a wider angle lens in the camera). Decide if that’s important for you

Im debating between …
Im debating between this camera and the Canon SX200IS (i think is the model #). The only thing the Canon doesnt have is the video optical zoom.
