This camera is a great buy at $250-300. I purchcased mine at Best Buy for $280.
My main gripe is that the pictures are grainy when the ISO setting is above 400. I've taken some decent ones at 800, but I try to stay at 400 and below.
Additionally, it can be sometimes difficult to take pictures at night and at low light. If you're like me, you like to preserve nice colors and avoid using the flash. I feel that the flash can make things look cheap and cheezy. However, I did manage to find a solution. Take your pictures using the Program Auto setting with the ISO at 200 and the image stabilization turned on. When using the flash in this setting, low light pictures retain a lot of their color and don't have the ugly white light effect. The quality is also great on this setting and you'll avoid getting grainy pictures.
Overall, this camera is excellent for a college student (as myself) and anyone wanting something simple, cheap, and high-quality. If you want something with better performance, look at an entry level digital SLR for around $550.
Pro : Relatively cheap, small size, nice features, easy to use, good picture quality
Con : Grainy above ISO-400, very grainy at ISO 1800 and 3200, somewhat prone to blur
