The pictures from this camera are surprisingly good! I've paid much more for 35mm cameras in the past and these pictures are just as good or better!
The only drawback is that you have to buy Sony's Memory Stick Pro Duo Card. No one mentioned that to me when I bought an SD memory card to go with the camera and the box only mentioned it in small print on the back.
Pro : Excellent Pictures day or night
Con : Sony doesn't use SD memory cards like most cameras.

This is an EXCELLENT camera, I would recommend this for any photo buff out there. It's stylish (red color is a killer), easy to operate, and value for money, that too for a BRANDED item. The only drawback ( I wouldn't call it a drawback), is that after a picture is shot, the review process takes longer, esp if the memory card is installed. If no card is installed, then it's faster. I have used Casio Exilim Z750 for 3 years, and it was and still is an amazing camera. But frequent use kinda killed the lense, so had to buy a NEW camera. Was leaning towards a Casio, but the 5x optical Zoom on Sony was the clear choice for me. Enjoy.
Pro : Stabilizer, Clarity, Easy to use
Con : Slightly slower review time after taking pics

Originally had a Fuifilm Finepix F10 before I got this. It was faster to start, faster to click.
I bought this because I thought that the larger lens and higher ISO sensitivity would allow for significant improvements. There might be improvements, but it wasn't significant – and the cons sort of outweigh the pros. The main problems are the ones listed above. Both the power button and shutter release are small, and embedded into the top of the camera design. So your finger has to search for it, then press hard to turn the camera on, wait, then take the picture – the hard press creates more camera movement, so you have to take more than one with the hopes that you got the picture without blur.
The way that I take pictures of people, my decision, composure and snap are relatively fast. I don't give my subjects a chance to get uncomfortable or for their smiles to deteriorate into something unnatural. This Sony camera doesn't make the mark for this type of picture taking. Further, the higher ISO won't compensate for the camera movement either.
In this model, ISO3200 mode is only available if the camera feels it's necessary. Otherwise, you'll only be able to manually control it up to ISO1600. Higher models alleviate this and allow for manual control to ISO3200.
Given the choice, I wouldn't get this model again. Canon picture quality is higher.
Pro : value
Con : slow shutter, buttons are hard to find, can only manually set to ISO1600

I love the fact that I can now take pictures with everyone smiling (it has that smile detection feature) even my uncle who DOESNT smile when taking pictures were force to smile !

Pro : Love the features
Con : More zooming..

I have taken some very professional looking photos with this camera. It really beats paying $300-$500 for a canon especially if your not a professional photogrpaher. Perfect for special events such as weddings and such.
Pro : Quality, Retouch Settings, Face Detection, Bright LCD screen, HDTV View
Con : None That I Can Think of.
