This is Sony DCR-HC38 Mini Dv 40X Optical Zoom Camcorder I bought recently. But this was filmed with a digital camera. Therefore do not expect much video quality from this. But you will see what this camcorder looks like.

It will let you. …
It will let you. You need a Firewire cable (Sony call it ‘i.Link’) and a Firewire port on your PC (they are cheap to buy and easy to install, use Google to get guide). Then you need some importing software.
Use Google, there are plenty of guide for importing raw video.

this camera has a very good 40X optical zoom like no other minidv camcorder… and the firewire connection works very well in my laptop 4 a high quality video… nice cam dude.

Well guys. I filmed it with a digital camera. Can I film it with my camcorder (like seeing my eyes through my own eyes). On top of it I reduced the quality considarably so that I could upload it for those who want to buy it. But this camcorder works very well for me. If you don’t like don’t watch it. Very simple, does’nt it?

1 – I know I speak …
1 – I know I speak better English than you.
2 – Get some editing software for your crap videos.
3 – I got this camera and it sucked. I sent it back right away because it doesn’t work with a Mac. The firewire port is crap on it because Sony wants you to use their USB 2.0 connection that lowers the quality of video.
I bought a Canon ZR850 instead. It costs a little more but has a full 1.0 mp video processor so the video quality is great.

the HC48 only has …
the HC48 only has 25x optical zoom:( and the HC38 has 40x optical zoom:) but zoom isnt the most important thing, but 25x is not enough:(

why not the HC48, it is not much more expensive, with few more features, and the extra resolution will improve video quality for sure.
