There is no external mic jack. I m also using this one SR45. Its good but in the Sony HDD all series handycam has no jack for external mic.

Just bought one …
Just bought one today…luckily enough. Sony won’t produce the model anymore. The newer models WILL NOT have nightshot…what a shame. Overall i give it 3 out of 5 stars. Decent enough for the price rance.
