OK, So I finally broke down and moved into the current century, and purchased a DVD player. I have to tell U surround sound in almost any venue except for Super Audio CD is the furthest
thing from my mind.. I sell this stuff every day, anything from basic $1500.00 packages to
$350,000 dollar dedicated media theaters, and have now for over 25 years. My interest in this piece was to replace a 13 year old $1500.00 Onkyo Integra refference CD player which weigh\’s in at about 25lbs (God know\’s what they put in this thing)and hope for the best. Well I\’m hear to say, that as a CD transport only I was very supprised at what I heard! U can defeat all video circuits in the player, and by also using the CD direct feature
end up with a very high quality CD player. I ran it both way\’s analog and digital out with a
Musical Fidelity A-300 integrated dual mono amplifier, Mirage OM-1 speaker\’s and Monitor
Audio\’s Gold refference series 60 loudspeaker\’s. Have I heard better? Well Yes,
Krell refference CD player,$6000, Denon\’s new
refference DVD player at $3500, just to name a few, but here\’s the point.. this player can be
had for arround $600 to $650 street value. Do the math, its a GREAT VALUE for that amount of
money!!! OH and by the way, as far as the features and control option\’s this player gives U,its a SONY all the way, frankly more ability for the average consumer to sqrew up with, but for serious front projection system\’s
and coupled with a high quality scale\’er, this thing look\’s great! REAL progressive scan, not UR $250 dollar \’progressive scan nightmare\’ that people fool themselves into thinking there doing themselves a favor with. Look if Ur just as serious about a high quality music
transport with Super Audio capabilities as well that can also be used as a great DVD player..Well U may have just found what the doctor ordered, as well as now having the extra cash to spend on well the reason we all buy this stuff for anyway..a few minutes of enjoyment! Hey did anyone see my ABBA CD lately??… just kidding..gotta run..If Ur budget say\’s under $1000 dollar\’s, U owe it to UR self to ck. this unit out! Comments welcome
Thank\’s for reading this.. I\’m outta here!

Sound Quality.. Overall very good. somewhat \’forward\’ in presentation, bass management..excellent. On SA 2 channel and multi channel playback..ranks well with player\’s at double the price..
Ease of use..good, can be setup very quickly or
\’tweaked\’ for very high quality video presentation. Excellent \’progressive scan\’ doubling..Overall Value $$$$$ “Recomended”

at first you must not expect to plug it in a 200-600 worth reciever and wait to get blown
second the detail of picture and suond that you can extract is unthinkable and illogical having in mind the price ones my ears heard it the cinemas dont have the chance to grab me anymore
in the end it spins almost anything except dvd-a/born dead standard/and mp3 which i consider is the most succesful way for us to kill the music and artists that we say we love
in my opinion this standard MUST NOT BE a feature in home decks at all.
