Poised as the hottest mobile phone round the block, the new Sony Ericsson K800i is ideal for digital connoisseurs. It boasts of a 3.2 megapixel camera, an in-built Xenon flash, a well enabled 3G as well as a remarkable burst mode – all integrated to showcase the genius behind its making, the genius which has adequately taken into consideration the requirements and the psyche of modern users.
The apt adjective that one can use to describe the K800i camera would be ‘outstanding’. With its autofocus, high resolution screen and image stabilisation, the images are full of vibrant, accurate colours and are hardly blurred. The burst mode captures a total of 9 pictures in a time span of one second. Just a little hiccup here. The camera seems a little inadequate in a dim-lighted place, despite its built-in Xenon flash. And the yellow xenon light is a little too powerful, which at times forces the subjects to blink.
The K800i is also a good deal for those who want uninterrupted connectivity (a much important criteria in today’s busy world). It has a good signal reception, a pleasing loudspeaker, Bluetooth support and quick camera switching during video calls.
SMS, MMS and e-mails can be handled quite decently through its comfortable keypad. Though, there seems to be a slight problem of text lag. K800i tries to incorporate an improved browser within itself and also provide a handy yet basic RSS reader to its owner. But the catch here is that this browser is no way outstanding in the market.
K800i is available in 2 colours: Velvet Black and Allure Brown, and has been designed to appease the sensibilities of a sophisticated buyer. Overall a good deal, if you are not to tied up about limited on-board memory, text lag and bundled memory.
