I did a lot of research on phones before I upgraded my contract thru ATT. No other phone compares to W580i. The camera alone is better on the Sony over the iphone. 2mp camera, up to 4gigs memory, fitness app with pedometer, the clarity of calls and the signal is perfect. mp3 with great options ect. I do not have the media bundle included on my contract BUT this phone has mobiTV, instant messangers ect. The phone can also be used at a modem on your computer if needed. You have to download software for the mp3 player but it is easy to do, there is an download for the fitness application…but i think it is the same thing that is on your phone so why bother.
What sold me was the fact of a good camera, mp3 player, phone wrapped together that is easy to use, the fitness program what an added bonus!

i got my phone about 2 week s ago from best buy and i just love this phone it has everything that ive always wanted, like mine came with speakers and head phones and a usb cord witch is GREAT, the head phones are the best head phone ive ever had, they drown out the sound so all you hear is your music, and if someone call you dont have to stop the music and take you head phones out i just pauses it for you and your head phones are a hands free head set so you can talk/call people with your head phones on…… i just love this phone i highly recommend it!!!!

mp3,fm radio,bluetooth,video,t9 text msg,fitness monitor. this phone does it all. if you have a magniatic phone case this will turn the phone back on and use up the battery life.the mags in the case to hold the phone in place turn the phone on.everyone who uses and see my phone wants one too. when i show them all the features they are really sold and want one for themselves. the flip phone days are #'ed. it's all about the slide.

Love my 580i. Holds plenty of music with awesome quality. Even the speakerphone plays the music pretty loud and clear. The one thing, perhaps I'm missing something or everyone else is because they're complaining about the battery life. This phone's lights will stay on when not in use until you push a button while its locked. This drains the battery pretty quick. BUT, I just push a button every time when I put it down and the battery will last for days and days… kind of a pain, but ah well, still a great phone. Has style, functionality and quality. Best phone I've ever had and I got it free!! booYAW

Unfortunatly I have had a lot of problems with this phone. I purchased this phone in June of 2008 when I was due for my AT&T upgrade and since that time frame until now I have had to have the phone replaced 3 times due to a variety of problems with the phone. Non of these issues have been to due to negligence on my part such as dropping the phone or it being exposed to water.
The phone the first two times just stopped working and I was unable to turn the phone on. Once I recieved this phone for the thrid time it worked well for the first 4 months and then I started having problems with the screen flashing on and off while on the charger, static noise, phone numbers that were stored in my phonebook started to come in under other peoples names and the camera took pictures with a green color to them. My first two phones the camera worked wonderful on this phone. I would be aware of these issues before buying this cell phone.
Pro : Nice style, Phone takes good pcitures
Con : Lots of mechanical problems with the phone

The battery on this thing lasts forever. The fact that it has a radio in it is very exciting to me though you need to have the extra antenna plugged in for it to work (but the antenna comes with the phone so you don't have to buy it separate). It looks great and fits almost anywhere though it is very delicate. The buttons do not hold up well. It is so small that anyone with large fingers will have a hard time texting on it. When people call, you can make it light up different colors. It has tons of memory for texts and music but the camera on mine stopped working soon after I got it.
I wouldn't suggest this phone to anyone who is known to drop their phone regularly as it will break pretty fast.
It's an amazing phone as long as you don't drop it. After a few falls, it won't hold up too well.
PS: You can get this phone (new!) pretty cheap on Ebay. Don't spend $400 on it, I got mine for $150.

I am sending my 3rd W580i back for replacement within 7 months time. The 1st phone bought brand new battery wouldnt charge, 2nd, mic went out the 1st day, now my third the lcd screen started to have black lines through the screen and it was never dropped or wet! Now i can barely see the screen! This phone is Junk! BeWaRe!! Do NoT BuY!!

The sony ericsson is great except that the buttons are soft plastic and if you are a big texter like I am they will crack after about a months use. Eventually they will fall apart and unless you actually call in the customer service and get on their case for it, they won't replace it. Otherwise it can go about 2 or 3 days without needing a charge, has a great camera and many other features. It doesn't hold much if you don't have a memory card, but those can be found pretty cheap and they have an SD card converter so you can put the stuff you have onto your computer, or vise versa. It took a while to get used to the phone, but if you read the manual its about as easy as switching from a dell to a mac. Overall it's a great phone and only has the downfall of the buttons breaking!

I would recommend spending a little more and getting an i-phone, if not just get any regular old flip phone. This slider style is not made well enough to last long at all. You will eventually be buying a new phone well before you are able to re-up your contract with AT&T to get a new phone at a discounted rate!!!! If you do alot of texting the battery is will not last 8 hours!
Pro : The camera and video are pretty good
Con : cheaply made (i have sent back 2 already in 8 months), i bought it when it was new so i paid like $200 for it and now it's $50 what B.S., the memory card you have to buy cost 2X more then if it were not Sony, it connects to the internet, dials #'s, etc when in my pocket the phone lock sucks, battery life….

I love listining to music and you can always do just that with this phone..but I seem to always have a prob. with it freezing and make sure you have a charger handy at all times cause the bat. life is just bad.
