It’s not for Windows Movie maker unless you convert the MPEG 4 files to Avi or WMV.
That is a Windows problem, not the camera.
However, I love this camera except for a few things.
Windows Movie Maker can’t open the video clips from it, so I wish Sony had a switch so it could produce movies in AVI format or MPeg4.
To make a movie with it using WMM, you have to convert the files first, loosing quality.
Sony includes software to do this, but I don’t use it. It takes too much time for me.
I just remove the card, put it in my card reader and move the files from my camera without using any special software.
It is also not very ergonomic and is hard to hold.
On the other hand, the quality of the sound is right up Sony’s alley except in the wind, where wind noise is horrible.
The Pictures and Videos are clear as a bell too.
Hope this video helps you decide if this camera is right for you.

I use the snow setting for in the dark settings. Do not use the night shot mode, or you will only have b&w movies. And in the dark, you need to be very careful not to move much. good luck.

How about shooting concerts at night. I’m going to a concert in a few weeks and it’s going to be inside a dark night club, but the performers will have stage lights on them. What setting would I use to record this? Thanks!

Sony moved their …
Sony moved their whole manufacturing arm to China, where their quality has become inferior. Their customer service has been pathetic for years. I had a ps3, and it stopped working. It also never connect to the internet. Sony’s tech support were incompetent and unable to help me. I hate Sony for their terrible products and service. I will never buy a Sony anything ever again. I strongly advise against buying a Sony product to anyone. Save yourself the headaches. Find another brand name.
