I would suggest you take this laptop to a Sony retailer, install Picture Motion Browser, take a High Defintion 1 minute video from a demo camcorder HDR-SR12 and playback on the laptop. Buy the camera if the High Defintion plays back smoothly on your laptop. If it doesn’t then its your call to buy it or not

Show Off?? haha well yeah, i suppose you could be happy owning something like that, although personally i would be crying and possibly contemplating suicide… Acer kicks , but you need to barebone it, simply order the chassis without ANY hardware and then build a sleeper monster. Only way to get exact specs.

You need a powerful computer in terms of CPU, RAM and Harddrive space. I have an 8 core cpu and editing and playing HD videos is smooth like butter compared to my Pentium 3 can’t even play HD smoothly. Decoding and encoding AVCHD takes only a few minutes.
