   I love the Sony nwz series….got already two of them (s638f 8GB and s616f 4GB). Both music and videos are played flawlessly, sound and screen quality immaculate. Would never buy another brand if it comes to multimedia players.

   This is 1000000 times better than any iPod or iPod touch because sony walkmans have much better sound quallity than apple products, and walkmans have changable battery which iPod doesn’t have. Especially new sony walkman x series which many people claim that it’s the true iPod killer. the apple, buy yourself a sony walkman and enjoy in the real sound of music!!! Cheers…

    some wmv files …
    some wmv files can’t be played back when transferred by media manager. if u retransfer them using windows media player 11 they may become playable. i use a program called format factory to convert them to play on portable device then just drag and drop them. hope this helps.

    does anyone know if it can play Atrac3plus format???? cuz my old sony PSYC walkman NW E107 plays atrac3plus… which saves battery 6 times and u can hold 695 songs on 1 gig using atrac,…. if this thing can play atrac, my life is saved…..

    Sure. If you don’t have many tracks then drag n drop will work fine with the mac. But If you have loads (like me) then it’s a lot easier to boot into Windows and use Windows Media Player.
    Apple and Sony simply don’t like each other. Shame really, because this thing is MUCH better than the iPod shuffle and mini
