    There are better …
There are better ones for anime, but they are much more expensive, and their battery don’t last very long.
The Irex Iliad might be the first e-ink device out there.
Give it 6 months and Netronics will have the ‘perfect’ device for anime.

    it’s also pretty …
it’s also pretty angled. The reader seems very long but at 2:25-2:30 you turn the device, and it looks square, hardly recognizable that it’s the same device…

Too bad you can’t really see anime pdf’s…
you’ll need a 720×1024 reader preferably to read them fine. At the moment those 9″ devices are pretty expensive.

For a fair judgement, you can see the review here: hightech[dot]afmag[dot]net/reading-manga-and-comics-on-the-sony-reader-the-definitive-review.html
I’ve posted some high-quality pictures on the reader displaying manga, comics and such

    The video is too …
The video is too bright to see… I can’t make a fair judgement. And to answer the last poster it does not have a back light due to the e-Ink technology, it’s like Magna-doodle when you were a kid. It is pricey, but not too pricey compared to say, a laptop or a high-end palm. iLiad is 1,000 bucks (though it is superior). I’ve considered picking one up myself

thanks for the insight, janelitte. i have been looking at getting one of these for scanlations as well but after trying it out on my own at the Sony store I ran into some of the issues you show here and it really helps to have someone else chime in on this issue.

is the screen back-lit? can you read in the dark? Still for $350, what a rip.
