Sony vaio desktop keyboard and mouse not working?

I have a sony Vaio LV-150J and have had for only one week, and already there is a problem. The wireless keyboard and mouse have stopped working and will not sync with the computer. Is there a way to fix this? I have already restarted the computer, turned the wireless on and off and still it will not work.

Try changing the batteries.
