What are the differences in the sony PS3 upscaling features (Normal, double upscaling, fullscreen?

I was also playing a ps2 socom 3 game and noticed it was not fullscreen. I am using HDMI cables etc…. ps3 games are full screen and playing good.
Any ideas? anyone else have this issue?

Well, normal is normal. Fullscreen is with out the black bars but I don’t know abou double scaling. I haven’t tried it yet.

In order to change your PS2 games in to full screen, while you’re playing the game press the PS button and then go to the settings.
