   DS by far. The games are a lot more fun and family orientated and are in better circulation. There is a new console the DSi which may be worthwhile buying. It is basically a DS with larger screens and a camera, however it is lacking a gba slot so you can’t play the gba games which you could on the DS. A quick search of DSi to DS comparisons will give you a brief rundown on the two.

   Hello, I think that a DS would be better for a 8 year old, because they are a lot of fun, however they do not have the graphics, but when you are 8 that doesn’t matter. Being able to touch is a nice feature. A PSP has very good game play and graphics, but when you are 8, the DS is the better option.

   What types of games does he like? If hes into educational games, easy games, mario games, games with child comedy, and plug and play games go with the DS. If he’s interested in games that take time to play, more mature games, strategy games, fighting games, and RPG games go with the PSP.

   Overall I’d say get a DS. When I was 8 I was more into simple plug and play games so I got a gameboy

   depends on what type of games the kid plays. normally at that age a ds, but if he is a gamer who likes rpgs and action type games then go with the psp.

   For an eight year old, I would probably recommend the DS. There are many cute games and it is family oriented. The PSP is pretty good for kids, but that is probably for an eleven year old. He would like it alot. The PSP has a lot of cool features, but the DS is probably a more simple machine, also unique with a touch screen. If there is any violence on the DS, it is very limited. Stick with the ds.

   im 10 and my sister has a ds which she doesn’t use. i use it for pokemon platinum and some link and mario games but

   buy a psp, this is coming from a kid too.

   BUT buy either

   a) A modded psp 2000 off ebay.

   b) Buy a new psp 2000 and mod it yourself

   When you mod it you can
   Download free games and play them like god of war, ( i play GTA but he is 8), patapon, loco roco, megaman the maverick hunters, naruto etc

   PLay GBA, SNES,NES,DGEN and even though its buggy and not a touch screen DS games

   i have good gba games like zelda the minish cap, games like super mario bros 3 on the nes, my sister plays the old link on the snes, i play Sonic the hedgehog on the dgen and i play the psp games. ( duh)

   And you can do the normal stuff like

   Internet Browser ( search ipsp, you will be amazed)
   Music
   Photos
   Videos ( download psp video 9)
   and games!

   Trust me you think he will like the ds but he will like a psp better

   and if you want him extremely happy, buy an old, uses ds phat off ebay for like 70 dollars.. There

   don’t get the new psp 3000 becauswe its un moddable

   get a 4gb memory stick

   PSP has been in for like 5 years and is still the king.

   download and play games
   AN ebook reader ( bookr)

   and more

   buy him a silicone case and a hori screen protector or a invisible shield full body protection. get a carrying case too.

   trust me, he will love it.
